More on SarahPAC

I wanted to flesh out exactly what a PAC was and why its important. PAC stands for political action committee, and personal PAC's exist in a legal grey zone called, I believe 504(h). This is different from an all out lobbying group (MoveOn.Org) which is known as a 527, and a traditional non-profits, called 501(c) groups. A PAC, and a personal PAC especially, allows a candidate to travel and start lining up supporters in advance. They're more typically called "exploratory committees".

Lets say you're... a governor, and you run a sparsely populated state in the middle of nowhere. You really want to start meeting people for your eventual senate or presidential bid. This allows you to fund trips to.... oh, I don't know, Iowa, or New Hampshire, (hypothetically), without using taxpayers money and sidestepping those pesky ethical issues.
